ANTIPODES OPERA
Intimate opera experiences curated with Antipodean soul
Who We Are
Antipodes Opera is a Berlin-based opera company presenting accessible, intimate opera and classical music performances with Antipodean flair. We draw on the wealth of Australian and expatriate talent living in Berlin, showcasing fresh voices and producing operas and concerts that feel as welcoming as they are world-class. We want classical music to feel personal - up close as you enjoy a wine in your local bistro, or around the corner in your local church or community hall. Experiencing the power and beauty of the human voice in intimate settings creates an impact even greater than a grand opera hall - and makes our audiences feel like they are part of something special.
Founded in 2026, Antipodes Opera is a burgeoning centre for artists and music lovers alike. Alongside performances, we offer development opportunities for singers such as masterclasses, lectures, and community meetups - spaces for emerging and expatriate artists to make friends and contacts, whether they are settling in Berlin or simply passing through. We are excited to be a welcoming musical home for fellow singers and performing artists from around the world, inspiring each other in our artistic goals.
Antipodes is the joining of two opposing points on the globe, and that is exactly who we are: a connection point for singers from across the world here in Berlin, making beautiful music for our local community.

Meet the Founders
Antipodes Opera was founded by three Berlin-based Australian opera singers: Rachel Pinevska, Rebecca MacCallion and Bronwyn Douglass. After years of living and singing in Berlin, they saw an opportunity to create a new kind of opera company - featuring artists who are establishing themselves in the city, and connecting deeply to audiences by staging chamber operas and concerts in local settings.
